The CAT is pleased to provide grant support for the costs associated with projects that directly enhance faculty teaching skills and knowledge.
Activities Funded
Grant funding will be focused on the following teaching development activities:
- Participation in teaching improvement workshops or conferences
- Research on student learning to inform teaching practices
- Development of new teaching methods and strategies
- Projects related to increasing course accessibility and inclusive teaching
Covered expenses could include travel to a conference, data collection expenses, support for a research assistant, and books, food or speaker fees for developmental programs. We would not however fund direct student resources (e.g., textbooks, course materials), guest speakers for classes, or equipment or software for student use.
Grant Overview
We will generally fund projects up to $1,000.
Submission Deadline: Monday, October 21st, 2024
Decision Notification: Monday, November 11th, 2024
Funds that are distributed during the 2024-2025 academic year must be spent by Friday, May 16th, 2025. Unfortunately we are not able to fund projects that occur in the summer and fall at this time.
- All expenses will be submitted through WorkDay using the budget code provided.
- All expenses must be submitted within 2 weeks of spending grant funds and before June 1st.
- A final report with an analysis of deliverables outlined in your proposal must be submitted by June 15th.
