The Departmental Teaching Initiative Fund offers financial support of up to $500 per academic year to support efforts to enhance teaching and learning within departments. The Fund may be used for departmental teaching development activities such as buying books for faculty discussions, bringing in a speaker, and buying lunches for meetings of the faculty involved.
Proposals should include a description of the initiative, names of participants, an itemized budget, and a brief explanation of how the program will enhance teaching and learning within their department. Requests will not be granted if the initiative primarily furthers the research, writing, or artistic activities of teacher-scholars.
Reimbursement requests should be submitted in Workday within 30 days of return from travel (or 60 days from incurring expense) and received by the CAT no later than June 1 of the current fiscal year. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
